Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter

Indian Summer

Enjoy it while you can
this unseasonable warmth
won't last long.
And in the morning,
if you take out early enough
when the quiet and calm are
still in control, before stars and
moon have released their
sentinel grip to the new day.
You can feel the power of time
and patience, how much wisdom
there is in the waiting,
and the following,
and the learning.
I look up and he's grinning again
reflecting light back toward some
collective source, having returned,
that was sent unconscious
through the ages
by those in love.
